Introduction to Computers

CGEA - Certificate 1 in General Education for Adults 21772VIC

 

Want to start at the beginning?

This course is the first step in learning how to use a computer and will include managing files and documents, internet and email and word processing.

This course runs for 20 weeks so there is plenty of time for practice and building confidence.

Day: Fridays

Dates: February 10 to June 29 during school terms

Computer Short Courses

 

Microsoft Excel

You will learn how to create spreadsheets, edit data, add formatting, perform calculations and create charts and tables. Basic knowledge of computers required.

Day & Time: Saturday 10.00am to 12.00noon

Dates: March 17 to March 31(3 weeks)

Fee: $80.00

 

Microsoft Word

In this course you will gain an understanding of creating, editing and enhancing documents.

Basic knowledge of computers required.

Day & Time: Wednesday 7.00pm to 9.00pm

Skills for Small Business

 

Bookkeeping

This course is an introduction to bookkeeping and basic accounting concepts suitable for small business. No previous experience necessary. Ideal as a pre-requisite for MYOB or other computerised accounting systems.

Day & Time: Mondays at 7.00pm to 9.00pm

Dates: February 20 to May 28 (13 sessions)

Fee: $175.00

 

MYOB (A pre-accredited course funded through Learn Local by ACFE) 

This course is ideal for bookkeepers with manual knowledge wanting to computerise business accounts. Learn to easily organise business records, manage cash flow and track GST.

Explore the endless possibilities you and your camera can create with our practical and informative course in a friendly, relaxed environment.

A Fresh Start For Smokers

With a Quit Fresh Start Course

Help is at hand for smokers who want to make a fresh start and kick the habit for good. We will be running a

Quit Fresh Start course in November to give smokers who want to quit some extra motivation, as well as

plenty of practical ways to make sure they stay quit – for good! The Quit Fresh Start course is designed to help

smokers make and confirm the decision to quit, and to support their efforts to become a non-smoker by

providing them with useful information and strategies,using videos, discussion and practical exercises.

Days: Tuesdays & Thursdays

Time: 1.30pm to 3.30pm for 8 sessions.

Gentle Exercise for Women 55+

Join this group of women and benefit from a range of simple exercises for fitness and fun.

Tai Chi

Tai Chi consists of fluid, gentle movements that are relaxed and slow in tempo. Breathing is deepened and slowed, aiding visual and mental concentration. It can be practised almost anywhere and is a suitable form of exercise for just about anyone. Ideal for the complete beginner or for people with Arthritis.

Relaxation and Meditation

With the practice of mindfulness meditation, neural activity begins to change. This can lead to a range of benefits including a reduction in the symptoms of stress, improved immune functioning, lower blood pressure and reduced muscle tension. In turn this increases our capacity to meet with greater ease the changing and sometimes challenging circumstances of our lives. Relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, guided visualisation and progressive muscle relaxation activate the body-mind’s relaxation response. This program aims to introduce participants to mindfulness and relaxation practices.

Sprichst Du Deutsch? (German for beginners)

You are going overseas? You would like to learn something new? Join Daniela for our new German language class! The course is designed for people with no prior knowledge. You will learn the German language from the beginning. With grammar, speaking, reading, writing and listening. Learn German with fun!

Introduction to the Chinese Language

Putōnghuà (Mandarin) is the most widely-spoken language in the world. Learn to speak Mandarin and you can speak with millions of people around the world. Foreign businessmen who speak Mandarin have a huge advantage in tapping into the Chinese market finding it much easier to develop all-important relationships. If you are visiting China, you will find getting around is much easier if you can speak some Mandarin.

Leadlighting and Copper Foiling

Join the growing number of people who enjoy making their own stained glass panels and gifts, using the techniques of leadlighting and copper foiling. As a beginner you will be taught the basic steps, which include glass cutting, construction and finishing techniques by completing a class project either in lead or copper foil. You will then move onto your own project where elements of design and glass will be taught..

Machine Quilting Workshop

Our tutor Karen has extensive experience assisting new and advanced sewing students. Bring along your machine if possible with fabrics and pattern. Create items from bags to clothing - we can make a start on basic items and move on from there!

Come along and meet the wonderful Crafty Ladies! This friendly group are looking for new members to help them create special gifts for the children of Berry Street.
