22301VIC Certificate I in Transition Education is designed for people who will benefit from learning at an easy pace.

Transition to Education Programs are designed to provide participants with a range of knowledge and skills relevant to accessing further education or work opportunities within the community. These programs are intended for students who live with an intellectual disability or special learning need which may impact on their learning. The program is nationally accredited with students studying selected modules from 22301VIC Certificate I in Transition Education.  

Learning programs can be tailored to meet the needs of groups of learners with specific needs.

Courses

Out and About in your Community (new)

The Out and About program provides students with the opportunity to explore the concepts of travel within the local area, select the best travel options to a proposed destination and gain important maths skills around the use of coins and notes and the recognition of tiemtalble and schedules.

Stepping Stones to Work (Part II)

The Stepping Stones to Work Program provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to work in a manner that is healthy and safe in relation to self and others and to respond to emergency incidents. It covers following work health and safety (WHS) and emergency procedures and instructions, implementing WHS requirements and participating in WHS consultative processes.

Healthy Choices - Live Well in your Community (new)

The Healthy Choices- Live Well program provides students create an individual learning plan that will reflect personal goals. The participants will also investigate and explore personal health issues and learn to apply preventative measures to support their own personal health and wellbeing. The students will identify community resources to support their own health, basic personal hygiene, identify emergencies and the steps required to respond to them.

Money Made Simple (Part II)

 

Money Made Simple (Part II) program provides students with the opportunity to determine prices of a selection of goods, practise using money, practise tasks that deal with familiar and concrete information, such measurements and estimation.

Money Made Simple (Part II) program also provides opportunities to participate effectively in the local community, allowing the students to identify their own rights and responsibilities as a member of a community and also recognising their own rights as a consumer.

Fun with Money and Numbers (new)

The Fun with Money and Numbers program provides the students with the opportunity to develop strategies to enhance their own self development and to develop strategies to support their own self confidence. Students will identify areas in which their self confidence can be improved and strategies to increase self confidence. This program also provides the skills and knowledge to use functional numeracy in everyday familiar satiations.

Projects with Technology (Part II)

The Projects with Technology program provides the students with the opportunity to explore role of media in everyday life, identify personal media preferences and the class will work on producing a quarterly newspaper, which will include the following articles, recipes and photographs of interest.

This program also provides an opportunity for learners to develop personal skills such as working collaboratively with others, planning and organizing self and others, problem solving, and using technology.
